Ingredients Needed:

Meat – Ground beef, hot dogs

Produce – Red onion

Pantry – Can of diced tomatoes, can of chili beans, hot dog buns

Seasoning – Chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder

Condiments – Yellow mustard, ketchup

Dairy – Shredded cheddar cheese

How to Make All American Chili Dogs

Start by cooking your ground beef and half of your red onion in a pan over medium-high heat. Then, place the cooked ground beef, diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder in a large pan and bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer for 20-30 minutes.

Next, while the chili is cooking, grill the hot dogs for 5-7 minutes, until cooked completely.

Finally, serve over hot dog buns, topped with chili, mustard, ketchup, cheese, and onion! Enjoy!

Prep-Ahead Instructions:

Pre-Cook your ground beef as in Step 1, Then place the Ground Beef, Diced Tomatoes, Chili Powder, Cumin, Salt, Black Pepper, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder in a Large Ziploc Bag. Store in the refrigerator or freezer until ready to cook.

All American Chili Dogs

Total Time: 40 minutes

Nothing says All-American like these Chili Dogs!!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Lbs. Ground Beef
  • 1 Red Onion, Diced (Divided in half)
  • 15 oz. Can Diced Tomatoes
  • 15 oz. Can Chili Beans, Rinsed and Drained
  • 2 Tbsp. Chili Powder
  • 2 tsp. Cumin
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp. Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Garlic Powder
  • 4 oz. Yellow Mustard (Optional)
  • 4 oz. Ketchup (Optional)
  • 8 oz. Shredded Cheddar Cheese (Optional)
  • 1 Package of Hot Dog Buns
  • 1 Package of Hot Dogs

Instructions

  1. Cook Ground Beef and 1/2 of the Onion in a pan over Medium-High Heat until no longer pink. Drain Fat and return to the pan.
  2. Place cooked Ground Beef, Diced Tomatoes, Chili Beans (rinsed and drained), Chili Powder, Cumin, Salt, Black Pepper, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder in a large pan. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer for 20-30 minutes.
  3. While the chili is cooking grill the Hot Dogs for 5-7 minutes, until cooked completely.
  4. Serve over Hot Dog Buns, topped with Chili, Mustard, Ketchup, Cheese, and Onion!

Place the contents of the Ziploc bag in a large pot and bring to a boil, reduce the heat to a simmer and cook 20-30 minutes. Serve over cooked Hot Dogs, topped with Chili and your favorite toppings!
