Ingredients Needed:

Salmon – 2 lbs. of fresh salmon with the skin still on

Pantry – Olive oil, soy sauce, brown sugar, aluminum foil

Seasoning – Salt, pepper

Produce – Lemons, minced ginger, minced garlic, fresh parsley

How to Make Grilled Brown Sugar Salmon

Start by combining your olive oil, soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, salt, and pepper in a large Ziploc bag and mixing everything together.

The, place your salmon in the bag and set it aside in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours.

To start cooking, place your salmon on a piece of aluminum foil and fold the long sides over the top of the foil and short sides in to create a foil packet.

After creating your foil packet, heat your grill to 375-400 degrees. Once your grill is hot, place the salmon packet on indirect heat and cook for 17-20 minutes depending on the thickness of the fish.

Now, just remove your salmon from the foil packet and serve garnished with fresh parsley and lemon!

Can I Cook My Salmon in the Oven?

You can also bake your salmon in your oven if you would prefer! Just set your oven to 375 degrees and bake your salmon for 17-20 minutes.

Prep-Ahead Instructions

Prepare the marinade by combining the Olive Oil, Soy Sauce, Brown Sugar, Ginger, Garlic, Salt and Pepper in a Large Ziploc Bag and mixing everything together. Store the marinade and the salmon separately until you are ready to cook it. Place the salmon in the marinade and allow it to sit in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours minimum before cooking.

Cooking Instructions:

To cook, place the Salmon in a large piece of Heavy Duty Aluminum foil and fold the Long Sides over the top of the foil, then the short sides in to create a foil packet that’s sealed. Heat your grill to 375-400° F – Once the grill is hot place the Salmon Packet on indirect heat and cook for 17-20 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 Lbs. of Fresh Salmon with the Skin On
  • 1/4 Cup Olive Oil
  • 1/4 Cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Minced Ginger
  • 1 tsp. Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 tsp. Black Pepper
  • 1/2 Bunch, Fresh Parsley for Garnish
  • 2 Fresh Lemons, Cut in Quarters for Garnish
  • Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil

Instructions

    1. In a large Ziploc bag combine the Olive Oil, Soy Sauce, Brown Sugar, Ginger, Garlic, Salt, and Pepper. Seal the bag and mix everything together until well mixed.
    2. Place the Salmon in the Ziploc bag and set it in the refrigerator to marinate for a minimum of 2-3 hours.
    3. To cook, place the Salmon in a large piece of Heavy Duty Aluminum foil and fold the Long Sides over the top of the foil, then the short sides in to create a foil packet that's sealed.
    4. Heat your grill to 375-400° F - Once the grill is hot place the Salmon Packet on indirect heat (Not over a direct flame) and cook for 17-20 minutes depending on the thickness of the fish. (Optional: You can also bake in the oven at 375° for 17-20 Minutes)
    5. Remove the Salmon from the Foil Packet and serve garnished with Fresh Parsley and Lemon.
