Ingredients Needed:

Meat – Ground sausage, pepperoni

Cheese – Mozzarella cheese, grated parmesan cheese

Refrigerated – Refrigerated pizza crust, butter

Pantry – Pizza sauce

Seasoning – Italian seasoning

How to Make Meat Lovers Calzones

Start by cooking your ground sausage in a skillet over medium-heat for 8-10 minutes. Then, spray a baking sheet with non-stick spray, preheat your oven to 400° F, and cut each of the pizza crusts into 6 squares.

Next, add pizza sauce, cheese, sausage and pepperoni slices to each square and fold the dough into a triangle and press the edges with a fork to seal.

You’ll then, combine the melted butter, Italian seasoning, and parmesan cheese in a small bowl and brush the top of each calzone with the butter mixture.

Finally, bake your calzones on a baking sheet for about 10 minutes at 400° F until the tops start browning and serve with additional pizza sauce for dipping if desired. Enjoy!

Prep-Ahead Instructions

Pre-Cook the Ground Sausage in a skillet over Medium-High Heat 8-10 Minutes until no longer pink, drain fat and store in an airtight container or bag until ready to assemble your calzones.

It's Italian Night at home for dinner with these Meat Lovers Calzones. Pizza Crust is stuffed with Ground Sausage or Substituted Beef plus Pepperoni for multiple flavors that will ignite your tastebuds.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Ground Sausage (Can also substitute ground beef)
  • 6 oz. Pepperoni
  • 30 oz. Refrigerated Pizza Crust
  • 14 oz. Pizza Sauce
  • 16 oz. Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 4 Tbsp. butter (melted)
  • 1 Tbsp. Italian seasoning
  • 3 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

    2. Spray a baking sheet with non-stick spray and preheat your oven to 400° F.

    5. Fold the dough into a triangle and press the edges with a fork to seal.
    6. Combine melted butter, Italian seasoning, and parmesan cheese in a small bowl. Brush the tops of each calzone with the butter mixture.
    7. Bake on a baking sheet for about 10 minutes at 400° F until tops start browning.
    8. Serve with additional pizza sauce for dipping if desired.
