Seasoning – Chili Powder
How to Make Taco Mac & Cheese
Start by browning your ground beef in a large skillet over medium high heat. Then, drain off the fat and return the meat to the skillet.
Next, stir in your water, salsa, and chili powder.
Then, bring your noodles to a boil and reduce to medium-high heat. Cook for 10 minutes or until the water is absorbed.
Next, add in the Velveeta cubes and stir until melted.
Finally, top with additional cheddar cheese and green onions before serving. Enjoy!
Are there any substitutes I can use?
Yes! You can substitute ground turkey instead of ground beef! You can also substitute gluten free pasta for the noodles in you are looking for a gluten free option.

This One Pan Taco Mac & Cheese Recipe doesn't require any preparation ahead of time, and it's packed full of cheesy noodles and seasoned ground beef for a one dish dinner the kids will love!
Ingredients
- 1 lb. Ground Beef
- 3 Cups Water
- 1/2 Cup Salsa
- 2 tsp. Chili Powder
- 2 Cups Macaroni Noodles, Uncooked
- 16 oz. Velveeta Cheese, Cut into Cubes
- 1/2 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 1/2 Bunch Green Onions (For Garnish, Optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet Brown Meat over Medium High Heat. Drain off the fat and return the meat to the skillet.
- Stir in Water, Salsa, & Chili Powder. Then add in noodles.
- Bring the noodles to a boil and then reduce to medium-high heat; cover and cook for 10 Minutes or until the water is absorbed.
- Add in Velveeta Cubes and stir until melted.
- Top with Shredded Cheddar Cheese and Green Onions before serving.
