Ingredients Needed:
Chicken – Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast
Produce – Lime, Tomato, Red Onion, Jalapeno, Fresh Cilantro
Dairy – Shredded Cheddar Cheese, Sour Cream
Seasoning – Chili Powder, Paprika, Garlic Powder, Salt, Black Pepper, Cumin, Onion Powder
Pantry – Street Taco Size Corn Tortillas, Olive Oil
How to Make Blackened Chicken Street Tacos
Start by combining your chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, 1 tsp. of salt, 1 tsp. pepper, cumin, and onion powder together in a small bowl.
Next, heat your olive oil in a large skillet, add your chicken, and sprinkle both sides with your seasoning mixture. You’ll grill your chicken over medium heat until it reaches an internal temperature of 160° F.
Now, remove your chicken from the skillet and cut it into small slices.
Then, combine your diced tomato, red onion, jalapeno, fresh cilantro, 1 tsp. of salt, 1 tsp. of pepper, and the juice from one fresh lime in a small bowl.
Finally, place your cooked chicken slices into each tortilla shell and top with your homemade salsa, shredded cheddar cheese, and sour cream. Enjoy!
Prep-Ahead Instructions
These Blackened Chicken Street Tacos are also super easy to prep-ahead if you’re looking to save even more time on a busy weeknight. You’ll basically follow the instructions listed above, but you’ll set everything aside until you’re ready to cook.
In a Large Ziploc Bag combine the Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast, Olive Oil, Chili Powder, Paprika, Garlic Powder, 1 tsp. of the Salt, 1 tsp. of the Pepper, Cumin, and Onion Powder. Seal the bag tightly and set aside until ready to cook.
Cooking Instructions
In a large Skillet heat the Olive Oil and then add the Chicken and sprinkle both sides with the Seasoning Mixture. Grill chicken over Medium Heat until it reaches an internal temperature of 160° F. – Slice Chicken and place in taco shells. Top with Fresh Salsa (Step 4), Cheese, and Sour Cream.

Ingredients
- 2 Lbs. Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast
- 4 Tbsp. Olive Oil
- 1 Tbsp. Chili Powder
- 1 tsp. Paprika
- 1 tsp. Garlic Powder
- 2 tsp. Salt, divided in half
- 2 tsp. Black Pepper, divided in half
- 1/2 tsp. Cumin
- 1/2 tsp. Onion Powder
- 12 Street Taco Size Corn Tortillas (Or you can use Flour)
- 1 Lime
- 2 Large Tomato, Diced
- 1 Large Red Onion, Diced
- 1 Large Jalapeno Diced
- 1/4 Cup Fresh Cilantro
- 8 oz. Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 4 oz. Sour Cream
Instructions
- In a small bowl combine the Chili Powder, Paprika, Garlic Powder, 1 tsp. of Salt, 1 tsp. of Pepper, Cumin, and Onion Powder. Mix well.
- In a large skillet heat the Olive Oil and then add the chicken and sprinkle both sides with the Seasoning Mixture. Grill chicken over Medium Heat until it reaches an internal temperature of 160° F.
- Remove chicken from heat and slice into thin slices
- In a small bowl combine the Diced Tomato, Red Onion, Jalapeno, and Fresh Cilantro. Sprinkle with 1 tsp. Salt, 1 tsp. Pepper and the juice from one fresh lime.
- Place cooked chicken slices in each Tortilla Shell. Top with Fresh Homemade Salsa, Shredded Cheddar Cheese and Sour Cream.
