Pantry – Olive Oil, Cans of Pureed Tomatoes, Chicken Broth

Produce – Yellow Onion, Shredded Carrots, Fresh Basil

Diary – Heavy Whipping Cream

Seasoning – Salt, Pepper, Dried Basil

How to Make This Famous Tomato Soup

Begin by pouring olive oil into a large stock pot. You’ll then sauté your onions and carrots over medium high heat until the onions start to turn translucent.

Then, add tomatoes, chicken broth, salt, pepper, & dried basil. Cook over low heat for 30 Minutes. Do not cook too high or the tomatoes will start to burn.

Next, blend until smooth with an immersion blender.

Finally, add in the heavy cream, and blend more. Heat over low heat until ready to serve. Garnish with fresh basil. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Olive Oil
  • 1 Large Yellow Onion
  • 8 oz. Shredded Carrots
  • 2 tsp. Dried Basil
  • 2- 28 oz. Cans Pureed Tomatoes
  • 2 Cups Chicken Broth
  • 1 ½ Cups Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • Fresh Basil, for garnish
