Ingredients Needed:

Meat – Chicken Breast

Produce – Minced garlic, lemon juice, dried oregano

Seasoning – Salt and pepper

Pantry – Olive oil, taco size flour tortillas

Dairy – Plain Greek yogurt

Tzatziki Sauce Ingredients:

Produce – Cucumber, minced garlic

Seasoning – Salt and pepper

Dairy – Plain Greek yogurt

Salsa Ingredients:

Produce – Tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, fresh parsley

Seasoning – Salt and pepper

How to Make Greek Chicken Gyro Tacos

Begin by setting the chicken breast, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, Greek yogurt, oregano, salt, and pepper in the refrigerator for 30 minutes after combining in a large Ziploc baggy.

Then, grill your chicken over medium high heat for 7-10 minutes on each side or until it reaches an internal temperature of 160° F.

Serve your chicken in taco shells and top with Tzatziki sauce and cucumber salsa!

For the Tzatziki sauce, peel and slice the cucumber in half lengthwise and remove the seeds with a spoon and grate the cucumber using a box grater. Next, wrap the cucumber pieces in a paper towel and squeeze to remove all water. Finally, combine the cucumber, lemon juice, Greek yogurt, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl and mix well.

When creating the fresh salsa, combine the diced tomatoes, cucumber, onion, parsley, salt, and pepper and mix everything together. Enjoy!

Prep-Ahead Instructions

To prep-ahead, combine the Chicken Breast, Minced Garlic, Lemon Juice, Olive Oil, Greek Yogurt, Oregano, Salt and Pepper in a large Ziploc bag and set in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or until ready to cook.

Greek Chicken Gyro Tacos

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. Chicken Breast
  • 2 tsp. Minced Garlic
  • 1/4 Cup Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 Cup Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Cup Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1 Tbsp. Dried Oregano
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Pepper
  • Soft Shell Tacos (10 ct.)

Tzatziki Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1 Cucumber, Grated and Strained to remove the water
  • 1 tsp. Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 tsp. Black Pepper
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice

Salsa Ingredients

  • 3 Tomatoes, Diced
  • 2 Cucumbers, Seeded and Diced
  • 1/2 Red Onion, Diced
  • 1/4 Cup Fresh Parsley, Diced
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 tsp. Pepper

Instructions

  1. In a Large Ziploc Bag combine the Chicken Breast, Minced Garlic, Lemon Juice, Olive Oil, Greek Yogurt, Oregano, Salt, and Pepper. Set in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or until ready to cook.
  2. Grill Chicken over Medium-High Heat for 7-10 minutes on each side, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 160° F.
  3. Slice Chicken and serve in Soft Taco Shells topped with Fresh Tzatziki Sauce and Cucumber Salsa.
  4. To make the Tzatziki Sauce Peel and slice the Cucumber in half lengthwise. Remove seeds with a spoon then grate the cucumber using a box grater. Wrap Cucumber pieces in a Paper Towel and squeeze to remove all water. Combine Cucumber, Lemon Juice, Greek Yogurt, Minced Garlic, Salt, and Pepper in a bowl and mix well.
  5. To make the Fresh Salsa combine the Diced Tomatoes, Cucumber, Onion, Parsley, Salt, and Pepper and mix everything together.

Notes
