Can I Use Cubed Potatoes Instead of Hashbrowns
Of course! If you don’t have shredded hashbrowns you can easily reach for frozen cubed potatoes! It will taste just as good the texture will be just slightly different than say a hashbrown style soup.
How to Make
Step 1: Add all your ingredients in your slow cooker. Give it a good stir to combine the ingredients.
Step 2: Once your mixture is all mixed, cover, and cook according to the recipe card below.
Step 3: 30 minutes before your soup is done, you will stir in your cream cheese.
Step 4: Once it is ready, stir, top with green onions, bacon, and more. This is a great recipe to serve up and let the family top how they would like.
Can I Add Meat Into This Soup
Of course! If you have leftover cubed ham, diced chicken, etc. I would just make sure the meat is cubed up and pre-cooked.
I do add cooked diced bacon on top, but if you add in meat you can always leave off the bacon. I like to put bacon in on top so it keeps the proper texture.
If you cook the bacon in the soup it can soften up quite a bit. Either way you can make the soup how you would like it.
