Another great thing is you can whip up a batch and place in single serve containers for serving up later as a dinner or even for grab and go lunches.
You can freeze your leftover ham and beans as well. The bean texture will be slightly softer but it will taste amazing.
How to Make Slow Cooker Ham and Beans
Step 1: Start by prepping all your vegetables that will go into your soup. As well as dicing up the ham into cubes.
Step 2: Start to add all your ingredients into the slow cooker and give it a quick stir to mix it all together.
Step 3: Place lid on the slow cooker and cook as directed in the printable recipe card below.
Once done, remove the bay leaves and serve.
What To Serve With Ham And Beans
You are welcome to eat your ham and beans plain or serve up your favorite sides. I will share a few ways we pair things with our beans.
What Beans To Use In Recipe
I might be a bit different but I use two different kinds of beans. Cannellini and Pinto beans.
We purchase canned beans, then drain off the liquid and give them a rinse, and then you are ready to toss in.
If you use dry beans the cook time will need to be a bit longer, as it takes time for it to soften. And a note to cooking with dry beans, never open the lid as it will make it to where your beans might not soften properly.
